USTA Jr. Team Tennis

USTA Jr. Team Tennis brings kids together in teams to play singles, doubles, and mixed doubles against other teams. It promotes social skills and important values by fostering a spirit of cooperation and unity, as well as individual self-growth. Also, it’s a fun environment for kids in which they learn that succeeding is really more about how they play the game – win or lose.

Teams are divided by age and play levels falling into one of several age groups: U12, U14, U16, and U18. Play levels are divided among beginner, intermediate, and advanced. There is also the 10 & under program and 8 & under program with their own formats and tournaments.

The Jonesville Tennis Center has been a major supporter of USTA Jr. Team Tennis in Gainesville since opening. Kids play free at Jonesville. The facility allows team captains to use courts free of charge for practices as well as for matches. JTC teams have traveled to Daytona Beach and Lakeland for the Jr. Team Tennis Sectional events every season, and have done very well. One team even made it to the National Jr. Team Tennis Championships in Alabama.
